Riunite? So 70s And Now It’s So Good!

Riunite was very delicious so many years ago, the hippie in me loved it, and then it went away, but not in Italy, my friends. And, it’s back again, with the beverage world being our oyster, and is still very delicious. I didn’t know what to expect, but ooo! I’ve written a lot about the Neo-prohibitionist movement, for which I’m not a fan.  We’re all adults in the room and we should be making our own decisions for what’s best for our own bodies. Read me, or don’t, whatever.

Reunite's non alcoholic beverage is really quite good

Riunite’s non alcoholic beverage is really quite good

First of all, no alcohol?

I’ve been a laggard to even embrace the concept, since I love wine. This bottle, however, was just so enjoyable. Here I’m finding a story for the holidays, not negating wine, but offering who might find this beverage enjoyable. I did have a motive to say, “Yes,” to an offer to try it. I have to admit the name was really familiar; so if they’re still around, they’re doing something right.

Are Some U.S. Brands Too Expensive?

I’m also a bit tired of some wine brands in the US insisting on $200 a bottle and over. I believe there’s been more harm than good done with that, as they try to reclaim the money they’ve lost from fire damages, coupled with COVID. We’ve ALL had to tighten our belts. We’re not “skip and go money market” billionaires, after all.

Three Day Experiment

I did have this Riunite over three days (recommended to only go three days, so I did)! It was just really fun and yummy, and here’s who I was thinking about for who would not wanting to ask for alcohol. Women, who are pregnant this holiday season, children at the table, who would love having a special beverage, too. People recovering from alcohol addiction or those in sobriety programs and fighting to say, “No thank you.” Individuals with health conditions that require avoiding alcohol (e.g., liver disease, certain medications). It’s got to be hard for them, especially when the bubbles show up. This Riunite has bubbles! Yay!

And, there are drivers or those planning to operate heavy machinery. Somebody’s got to take those who had wine home. Athletes or fitness enthusiasts who want to stay hydrated without alcohol’s dehydrating effects. Those practicing mindfulness, meditation, or other spiritual practices that discourage alcohol consumption. Well, I meditate and do yoga, but you know what I do for a living. I’m hoping for dispensation. Anyone simply looking for flavorful drinks without the intoxicating effects of alcohol, and you know who you are.

You can pick up a bottle and bring it with you, and don’t put it on your hosts. Inspire them, instead.

Beyond Self Interests

So, I’ve now considered more that my own self. (Imagine that!) I’ve not been in favor of alternatives, but I was just asked if I’d like to taste this alternative. And, with the holidays coming, I got outside of my own bubble. I first thought of pregnant women and children. They want to be festive, too! Non-alcoholic beverages are great choice for many people beyond pregnant women and children.

Bottles for every beverage

A collection of differing bottles, for a collection of different beverages.

Examples of Non-Alcoholic options

Consider them, for all the people and examples mentioned above. There are plenty of delicious and creative non-alcoholic beverages available, from mocktails and kombucha to sparkling juices and herbal teas. Also, children will appreciate a creative beverage, rather than have a soda with almost 10 teaspoons of sugar in a standard 12-ounce soda bottle. Imagine putting 10 teaspoons in your coffee. That may be why kids so amped during the holidays.

Happy Holidaze 2025!
