Beaujolais Just Slays Me & Beaujolais Day Just Happened
The region called Beaujolais has a most elegant hospitality. My tour included places I would never have imagined. Meanwhile, in my heart, I now treasure Beaujolais’s early release of Gamay in November. Hosted by the Duboeuf Family, it was undeniably beyond my wildest dreams. The most treasured memory is meeting Monsieur Georges Dubœuf, just before he was given his angel wings. I’m a huge fan, how could I not be! “Le Beaujolais Nouveau est arrivé!” the email read. They are happy to say this, and so am I. “Gamay’s New Beaujolais have just arrived
A traditional celebration, Beaujolais Nouveau Day is rejoiced in the French region of Beaujolais on the third Thursday in November. Regionally, it is approximately 19 miles northeast of Lyon, and annually celebrated with the first release of Beaujolais nouveau wines. This tradition goes back to the 1800s. Local Beaujolais growers would gather and celebrate the end of their harvest. They would toast that year’s vintage with pretty much what they had just produced.
Beaujolais had always made a vin de l’année, to celebrate the end of the harvest. It was only for local consumption, until World War II. Today, it’s become a worldwide phenomenon, due in some part to some important actions taken by the Georges Duboeuf family.

Usher in a New Era for Bersano
Founded in 1907, the legacy of excellence continues. Bersano is one of the most historic wineries in Piedmont, explicitly for the pioneering vision of Arturo Bersano. The winery has always shown the potential of native grape varieties. They emphasize the selection process and the wine’s ability to reveal the essence of terroir. Arturo laid the foundation for a journey that’s continued under the leadership of the four Massimelli sisters, since 2021. Their vision and managerial style bring fresh energy to this highly respected legacy.
The company’s rebirth shows two stages of growth and change. It’s driven by large-scale funding that combines decades of knowledge and skills and modern challenges of sustainability and innovation.
Committed to excellence, Bersano remains true to its territorial identity. Their recent revenue growth has spread across 40 countries, as proof of its success. The winery is also expanding its production and global reach. It aims to solidify its role as a leading force in the Piedmont wine scene. This progress has been met with widespread acclaim, with numerous awards recognizing Bersano’s pursuit of new heights in wine identity.
