Ron Rubin’s TRAINED FOR SAVING LIVES program has his thoroughbred headed to a barn.
The magnitude of Ron Rubin’s TRAINED FOR SAVING LIVES program cannot be underscored. Ron’s dream is to give away 450 Automated External Defibrillators (AED), and only 42 of them remain. More details are on my blog Ron Rubin’s TRAINED FOR SAVING LIVES program, as well as the other links, just mentioned.

Ron Rubin’s TRAINED FOR SAVING LIVES program is nearing the finish line.
What Prompted Him?
Ron was training for a marathon, however he didn’t make it on that fateful day. While preparing to run, Rubin suffered a cardiac arrest. Ron’s father had taught him to be a good citizen through philanthropy, correspondingly giving something back to his community. The idea of giving someone else the same opportunity he had made perfect sense. Ron purchased 450 Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), explicitly to return the gift of life to someone else

Letting Other Say “Why”
“We’re thrilled to have one at ACORN Winery, and hope we never have to use it. Thank you, Ron.” — Betsy & Bill Nachbaur
“Several of us on staff at Robert Biale Vineyards are coaches in our spare time. Coaches know first-hand the importance of being certified for any emergency, and the impact AEDs have made in sports. In addition, I was an ocean lifeguard during college. I had to perform CPR before AEDs were available, accordingly it was one of the most difficult experiences of my life. When Ron reached out to us about this several years ago, it was a no brainer! In addition, training members of our staff has been smooth and appreciated.”
CONTINUING: “Knowing we have multiple members in the winery that have the ability to help in the event of major emergency is comforting. We can thank Ron for that! I’ve forwarded his offer to many colleagues in the industry, while continuing to do so. AEDs are literally life changing. Ron is a gem!” Aline Magee
“Ballentine Vineyards has always been considered to be a family focused winery. We care deeply about the well-being of not only our employees, but also everyone who visits our property. When we heard of Ron’s program, we saw it as a great opportunity to better care for our extended family.”
CONTINUING: “We trained all our employees in first aid, CPR and the use of the ZOLL defibrillator. We see it as our stewardship to take care of our families, making sure they’ll be there for their families. Ballentine Vineyards is nothing without our employees. We put a lot of time and care into our safety and health programs. We consequently saw this as a needed extension to our current practices.” Winemaker Bruce Devlin

CPR for a heart attack, an AED is needed for a Cardiac Arrest.
Continuing…
“We (Viader Vineyards) fully endorse having an AED and train the personnel on the appropriate use It might mean the difference between keeping somebody alive until medical help arrives or not. Luckily we have not had to use it but we all have been trained just in case. Thank you.” Delia Viader
“Thank you so much for this generous offer. We have…accepted one and are grateful for Ron Rubin’s generosity.” Warm regards, Helen Sharrocks, Balletto Vineyards
“At Davis Estates, we uniquely understand the urgency of always being prepared. Our winery is still standing today because of some very brave firefighters, and because of the way our team was prepared for a wildfire. That’s why when Ron Rubin offered to provide us with a potentially lifesaving AED for our property, we immediately saw the importance that something like this could hold. Thankfully we have yet to use it, but we appreciate knowing that it’s there and are grateful to Rob for his generosity.” Jessica Link
Only 43 AEDs Remain
