Initially, the statement Come Over October seemed simple enough, still it’s grown a bit tricky as I delved deeper.

We hit plateaus in life when we settle into comfortable grooves. Wine journalist Karen MacNeil (Speaker, Consultant, Author) does a great job showing this in her wine career. When I entered the wine industry, she was already a prominent figure serving as a prime example. She was recently amazed, afterward hitting that plateau. Karen felt something missing, even though she’s well-known as an author and speaker.

So, she did something about it. She called a couple of PR people she values, namely Gino Colangelo, Colangelo PR and Kimberly Noelle Charles, Kimberly Charles, Charles Communications. The three collaborated and came up with a master plan, so it’s exploding. They’ve been preaching the gospel ever since. The trio’s meeting at Joseph Phelps Vineyard in Napa Valley was an introduction to their master plan. They wanted to share it with more PR reps. Their goal was to involve everyone in the wine events happening in October. They provided details and instructions for moving forward.

PS I Love You, my wine advocacy group, is coincidentally planning our Dark & Delicious event at Robert Biale Vineyards, in Napa Valley, in October. When their invitation arrived, I had  no idea how much I could tie together for them. I have many other avenues of distribution. I have clients beyond PS I Love You, also having many social media pages. And, I have my Jo Diaz Juicy Tales Wine Blog, friends of wines, and neighbors, both in and outside of the wine business.

Come Over October from Wine Business Story

Karen MacNeil, of Wine Bible fame believes we’re living through tough times, and we know that spending time with friends, having good conversations, and enjoying laughter can make life better. Karen wants to encourage people to unplug and enjoy each other’s company.

Wine has often helped people talk, make new friends, and strengthen old relationships.

Seeking Support From the Wine Industry

Come Over October is seeking support in two ways. They are seeking support from the wine community. You can financially support them and you’re also free to use their campaign assets. “We encourage wine companies—including producers, winery supply companies, wine trade associations, importers, distributors, and retailers—to use the Come Over October campaign assets in your own marketing activities.”
