Meet the talented instructors who will lead the 14-Week French Wine Scholar ™ program in live online-classroom format, beginning on June 8, 2017.

STUDY UNDER TALENTED AND RENOWNED WINE INSTRUCTORS

Sharon McLean is an award-winning wine educator whose ability to teach has been proved time and again by her students: Her wine knowledge is excellent, she scored the highest marks in Canada for the WSET Diploma in 2009. Her French wine experience is real.  She first visited France on a school exchange program when she was thirteen.  There may not have been any wine (well, maybe a little, heavily diluted with water), but it left Sharon with an everlasting love of the French culture.  In more recent years, she has visited France multiple times, meeting with over a hundred producers and going deep into the wines of Bordeaux, Champagne and Languedoc-Roussillon. Sharon juggles her passion for wine with a busy management consultant practice and spending time with her two children.

  • “Sharon is a wonderfully supportive instructor and is able to meet every student, no matter their level of knowledge.” Heather Giassom

Lisa M. Airey was knighted by the French government for the creation of the French Wine Scholar program and its significant contribution to the French wine industry. She has 24 years of experience in the wine industry—in wholesale and retail sales, as a journalist and as an educator. When not writing about wine, Lisa is gardening or writing novels. She earned her Master Gardener credential in 2012 and she has written two novels: Touching the Moon and Touched by the Moon.

  • “Lisa is the consummate wine educator. She she has an encyclopedic knowledge of the wines of France which is enhanced by her personal experiences and travel to each of France’s wine producing regions.” Sheral Schowe, M.Ed., FWS.
