Jose and I saw Dave Coz and his friends on July 28, and I was reminded how much I love concerts at Rodney Strong Vineyards. First of all, we could walk to Rodney Strong. It’s only a couple of miles from where we live. That kind of convenience is one of the great perks of living in wine country. Secondly, the venue is perfect. It’s their front lawn, with trees that shade a good deal of the site… All overlooking their Russian River Valley vineyards. Lastly, besides the great music that they offer, it’s about their gracious hospitality and their superb, environmental consciousness.
If you’re going to be in Sonoma County this Labor Day weekend, why not purchase your tickets now, so you can also have a great RSV concert experience this season?
Here’s what’s happening and what you can expect…

22nd Annual Summer Concert Series ~ A Season of Food, Wine, and Music
You can either enjoy their food truck experience, or bring your own picnic. Their wines are available for purchase, and if you bring your own glass (plastic only, on the grass for all the obvious barefooted reasons) they’ll deduct $1.00 from your purchase (win-win). Other beverages are also available for purchase, if wine’s not your thing, or if you need to move to another beverage.
The best part is Rodney Strong’s commitment to the environment, in my opinion. You won’t be buying water at this venue. They’ve got water strategically placed, and you just need to fill your glass. Imagine how much plastic is not being used for any one of their concerts, if not for all of them collectively for the season. This feature is HUGE for me, and reminds me to rent a few of those cooler containers for my own events.
Bring a blanket or your low-back chair (short legs no taller than 12 inches, and having a short back). No umbrellas or high back chairs are welcomed, given the intimate setting. Honestly, you’d be blocking others’ views… not cool, right?
