I’ve got an app for that, and doesn’t everyone have an app for something?

How many times have I had people wanting me to write about apps on my wine blog?

Since this is a journal, and I don’t use more than a few on my Blackberry, you’d better have a darn good reason to ask me to write about one on this blog. I don’t live in Appland, like my Jose does. I get onto my computer at 6:00 a.m. every morning, and when I walk away between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m., I’ve had enough electronic gadgetry, for the most part. There are other things to see and do… and I don’t usually depend on other people’s opinions to guide my shopping, my driving directions, or even to tell some people where I am, while others know they have enough time to go rip off my house.

But then, along came Jose L. Castañeda with his iVinoX. Founder of iVinoX, Jose’s created a mobile media platform for wineries. It’s the app that enhances your wine tasting experiences, and it can be downloaded for free from his app store. iVinoX covers every wine region in California, with over 1,500 tasting rooms profiled. They’re the number one rated wine travel app. From his site:

iVinoX is the first Social Search Platform (SSP) for wine on the iPhone. iVinoX brings all parties together in an interconnected community of wineries, users, marketing associations and social media outlets. iVinoX makes it possible for wineries to present their content to users in a unique environment that is engaging, brings value to the users’ wine tasting experience and does it in social community.

iVinoX was designed as an open platform which provides flexibility for both users and content providers. Currently launching with a database of North American wineries, future releases will include additional maps as well as many other wine producing countries. iVinoX was designed to be scalable and adaptable to user preferences.

Wineries will find iVinoX an invaluable tool in reaching customers whom have transitioned to mobile media as their primary source of content consumption. Users on the other hand will enjoy access to our powerful suite of search routines.

WINERIES: Go add your info in order to showcase your winery and your wines on iVinoX, by creating an account.

Here’s a video for more info. Enjoy, and yup… Jose’s got an app for that…
