The Mutineer Magazine Holiday Comedy Festival at Sonoma’s Jacuzzi Vineyards on December 11!

I may be wrong, and please tell me if I am; but, I can’t remember a wine magazine ever doing something like this… And, I mean holding a specific event, whose singular purpose it to raise funds for a worthy cause.

Again, I may be wrong, as I scratch my head trying to remember; but, I’m coming up blank…

If this is indeed the case, then it’s taken a group of younger (than me) millennials who are still connected to their parents’ philanthropy ethos; and, that’s so refreshing and pulls at my heart strings. For all the kids groups I’ve ever lead of this generation (Girls Scout troops, directing a GS day camp, leading a Camp Fire group, substitute teacher), it’s really heart warming for me to see this generation become so innovative (holding a wine country comedy event), and take the initiative to get something done with children of the world, who will become the recipients of their efforts. This generation has learned so well.

Mutineer Magazine:

“ALL proceeds from the festival will go towards a charity that Mutineer Magazine feels very strongly about. That charity is A Child’s Right, a fantastic grassroots organization that brings clean drinking water to at-risk kids in developing countries. The money we raise from this event will go towards buying and installing five water filtration systems for Nepalese children early next year – providing 25,000 kids with clean drinking water for 10 years.”

As the buzz of their beverage tasting and comedy event continues to grow, and the December 11 date nears, Mutineer has shared the following about their event as “wine country is about to get a whole lot funnier.” (It can use a lot of that.)

Mutineer Magazine Announces Holiday Comedy Festival @ Jacuzzi Family Vineyards

Dec. 11, 2010 7:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Mutineer Magazine is throwing one of its legendary red carpet-style events. Except for this one, the first-ever Mutineer Magazine Holiday Comedy Festival, it will be benefiting water relief; and Mutineer is trading its red carpet for a blue one, while transforming Jacuzzi Family Vineyards into an azure winter playground. This is what 27 year old editor-in-chief Alan Kropf calls a “total aesthetic takeover.”

RARE LAUGHS, SPECTACULAR BEVERAGES

Performing against this fantastical blue backdrop (blue for water relief, naturally) an all-star lineup of stand-up comedians and special guests, there will be no shortage of Hollywood-style glamor (think paparazzi-style photogs on the blue carpet) and outstanding libations from some of the finest names in beverage. It’s all in line with the publication’s reputation for pushing boundaries and exceeding expectations where drinks and lifestyle experiences collide, and it looks to be one of the wildest nights wine country will see this side of 2011, according to Mutineer Magazine.

Get ready, boys and girls, Along with Jacuzzi wines, you’ll also be enjoying Don Roberto Tequila, as they’re also a sponsor.

Born in Tequila, Jalisco, Don Roberto Orendain was characterize by his great character, and made him become one of the pillars of the Tequila industry. Ole!

For ticket info… Tickets for the festival are $35 and are available on a first-come, first-served basis online.
