Anyone who knows me knows that my first PR gig was in rock n’roll radio. I was one of the few lucky souls who had an unlimited supply of back stage passes during the 80s, and early into the 90s. Then, I segued into the wine business, but music has never left my soul… In fact, it makes up my soul, I dare say. I’m ruled by rhythms.

So, when Rebecca of Wine Enthusiast magazine asked if my readers would be interested in a contest that focuses on a free trip to wine country that involves wine with the music theme, I knew it would allow me to bring out my guitar in a bottle image, again. I created this image in 2008 to go along with this story, From Woodstock to Wines Stock, These Wines Rock. I’ve always seen the shape of a guitar and a wine bottle as one-in-the-same.

So, here’s what Wine Enthusiast is offering… And to those of you interested, good luck!

I came across wine-blog.org and wanted to let you know what a great blog you have created about your “juicy tales” with wine. I really appreciated the extensive lists of resources you provide to your readers; it really shows you understand the wine community.

This is why I’d like to share the following news with you.

I’m currently working with WineEnthusiast.com to promote a new contest they are hosting with Wines That Rock called “Message in a Bottle Sweepstakes.” The contest is FREE to enter, and the grand prize winner gets an all-paid vacation to the Wines That Rock Winery in California! The grand prize winner and a friend will receive round trip airfare, a private tour of the winery, a guitar autographed by Sting, and more!

Please visit www.wineenthusiast.com/winesthatrock for more information and official contest rules. All Entries must be received by January 15th, 2011 11:59PM EST.

Well folks, I was very fortunate to meet Sting between his band’s tour, and just before he headed off to Montreal to participate in Amnesty International’s concert on September 17, 1988. I, too, headed to Montreal after his Portland, Maine gig, to see that one.  Both concerts were amazing.

If ever there was a prince among princes, it’s Sting. If you get to own that guitar, his signature alone makes it all worth it… But the trip is also going to be the bomb…
