I’ve been invited to this Celebrity Wine Review event, and think it’s going to be a hoot-and-a-half… I’m getting out that dress with the dangly fringe at the bottom, and gonna brush up on my Charleston.

The organizers have converted the beautiful Hotel Rex in downtown San Francisco into a 1920’s speakeasy, with plenty of wine and cheese to be had.

Friday, October 01, 2010, from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. (PT)

Tickets are $45.00 at this site: Celebwine.eventbrite.com, $55.00 at the door.

They’ve chosen to celebrate the 1920s for a reason…

“The end of prohibition brought about more freedom, it was a time of cutting loose and having fun. Rich and famous people of that era were the brightest stars in a changing world of celebrity.”

They’re inviting you to pay tribute to this era by dressing as your favorite famous person of the 1920s, or simply to don some period gear (think feather boas and top hats). Whether you choose Coco Chanel, a Flapper, or maybe Al Capone, for one night you’ll be treated as a celebrity.

You’ll enjoy some of the best Wente Vineyard wines and beautifully handcrafted artisan goat cheeses, furnished by Wente Vineyards and Cypress Grove Chevre. You’ll have a chance to mix and mingle with wine celebrities, social media and entertainment experts, and have fun with the Celebrity Wine Review TV team, who’ll be filming on location… So you’ll get a chance to watch their show in action.

Com’mon… Let’s go have some fun!
