I’ve heard about this event, going on in the background of my life. The first time I heard about it I thought, “How cute,” and then kept rolling along with all the wine things that fill my days.
My new marketing colleague April Damron of Damron Marketing has just connected me to this group, bringing Wine, Women & Shoes from my peripheral into full view. Now I know it’s a lot more than cute, but it’s still all that, too.

Honorary Chair Ambassador Kathryn Hall and Hall Winery are partnering with Planned Parenthood: Shasta-Diablo to provide an afternoon of delicious wines, delectable foods, incredible fashion, and a look into how Planned Parenthood helps women, families, and our communities stay healthy.
There are going to be 50 wineries and 20 restaurants from Napa Valley… all serving a wide range of bites and tastes.
It will also showcase a marketplace of over 10 retailers selling their fashionable designer shoes, handbags, and jewelry. A portion of each purchase will benefit Planned Parenthood: Shasta-Diablo.
HIGHLIGHT
The return of “The Shoe Guys.” Charismatic local men offer guests an up-close preview of featured shoes, carried on silver trays. (Isn’t that the only way to look at designer shoes?) The organizers tell me that “these guys will even help women try on a pair of shoes, as they are always willing to please.” Cute… I’m bring back photographs… Grown men on their knees for women. (Oops, sorry, slipped into a private moment.)
I was thinking of arriving in my best footwear; but, actually, the reverse is true… I’ll be leaving with my best, new footwear… All while enjoying food and wine, and benefiting Planned Parenthood, and thinking this is really a wonderful idea.

Elaine Honig and I are now communicating via Email, April.
I had to really laugh out loud when I read her title of Founding Shoemmelier… Still all very cute. She’s told me that I was right on the “cute,” but the fund raising nationally is substantive. We’re going to chat. I’m sure that I’m going to learn a lot… and find wines that will pair well with my shoes.
Wine and shoes…what a perfect pairing.
