I’d really like to know what your New Year’s Resolution is for 2010.
I’ve found that when I have resolve, I tend to make things happen (quitting nail biting as a pre teen, quitting smoking as a young adult, learning about Portuguese culture last year, and many others).
As a small incentive for you to comment, and please don’t feel like you have to, or that this is just baiting (which it is; so there I am, speaking the truth to get some interesting answers), I’m willing to give away another pair of tickets to Dark & Delicious 2010 .
To enter, share your New Year’s resolution in the comments section below.
I’ll announce the winner tomorrow morning; meanwhile, we’ll all be getting our lives into a better focus for 2010. We can even share from time to time if things are moving in the right direction… I know they will be.
I’m thinking there won’t be too many entries, because most of us will be away from our computers, so your chances to win are pretty good.
Also, if you can’t make it to the event:
- you can gift the pair
- have your own drawing on your site (if you have one)
- sell them on E-Bay
- etc., it’s all up to you!
My resolution ~ in public ~ since my last two years have been real growth makers… (Writing children’s stories and learning about Portugal, in that order.)
I’m going to learn a lot more about the world of wine; and by a lot more, I mean that it’s going to include exotic places, fabulous flavors, interesting people, and world history. I’m very excited about the possibilities ahead.
Happy New Year to you Jo.

Primary 2010 Resolution:
Make a conscious effort to spend more time in the ‘present’ moment…
All the best in 2010!
Happy New Year.
I don’t normally make resolutions, not because I am perfect, but all that reinventing yourself stuff is just nonsense.
I do have some goals and aspirations for 2010; mainly to finish my viticulture degree at NVC and graduate in May, also like you learn even more about the world of wine, and I’m pinching Frank’s one from above 🙂
My new years resolution is to try 12 new PS that I haven’t, and get 3 wineries to join PSILY!
Frank, This is a very important resolve…. one tat I completely embraced in the ’60, when I read George Harrison’s book, “Be Here Now.” I remember paying $3.33 for it. It’s turned out to be the best $3.00 I’ve ever spent in the “slow down and smell the roses” department.
Thanks for reading an commenting. I bopped over to your blog this morning, too. Will spend more time with it when I don’t have so many house guests.
Happy New Year!
Vinogirl, Happy New Year to you, too. I like your philosophy… and your goals and aspirations are awesome. I wish you well completing your degree. That’s very wonderful, and it will be fun to follow that journey once completed. 2010 should become your oyster!
Loweeel,
Your resolutions are pretty amazing. I’ll arrange for the 12 new PSs… easy for me on my end.
You arranging for new members… That would be stuPendouSly delicious. I can give you a hit list. (I know who they are, and where they reside.)
Seek funding for LocalWineEvents.com and WineLabelWorld.com and expand my world.
All the best.

Last year at this time I made the decision to quit smoking, and I have.
This year’s resolution(s): I will taste many more wines, I will cook for friends more, I will find great wines that don’t cost an arm and a leg and pair great with food and tell the readers of my blog about them. I am going to convert some beer and iced tea at dinner drinkers into folks willing to try a wine instead. I am going to become a better wine writer. I am going to meet more of my fellow wine writers in real life. Finally, and perhaps most critically, I am going to rejoin the wine industry in my next job. I’m currently between jobs, but my next one is going to be great…because I say so.
Thanks. I rarely put my resolutions down in writing.
John
Eric… A good one – and a worthy cause for all you do gratis… Know that all too well! We should share a bottle of wine and discuss!
Good luck with it.
John,
No, thank you! Putting it in writing makes it happen, I’ve learned.
I, too, quit smoking with a resolution… That was 1972… the year of my quitting… two packs a day and 13 years of slavery given to the tobacco companies. Congratulations!
It will be fun to check back in 2011. maybe give way some Riedel tot hose who pulled it off from today’s resolutions. (I’ll reserve a pair for each of you… No joke.
We’ll circle back and discuss.
Great goals for 2010.
Would love to hear your thoughts on our new website, TallyZoo. We launched it 3 days ago. It is a free site where users can track, visualize and share the things that are important to them — from wines tasted, miles run, portugese lessons…
Thanks for the great blog.
