From the James Beard Foundation Website, “Deemed ‘the Oscars of the food world,’ by Time magazine, The James Beard Foundation Awards are the country’s most coveted honor for chefs; food and beverage professionals; broadcast media, journalists, and authors working on food; and restaurant architects and designers.”

It’s always gratifying to witness someone that’s a colleague be honored for his or her body of work. If it has to do with the wine industry, it’s fun to share the honor, because there’s always something to be learned in the process.

Last week, in an Email exchange with Ed Deitch of MSNBC regarding his wine segment, Ed shared that he was a nominee for a James Beard Award on June 6, 2008. (Ed is a prior recipient of this prestigious award.)

Nominee for television, webcast, and radio programs aired in 2007.
