Celebrating 25 Years as an AVA ~ Wine Tasting & Celebrating in Suisun Valley

The Silver Anniversary kick-off for California’s twelfth historical AVA was a winemaker dinner with Suisun Valley Grape Growers and Winemakers, on Thursday, December 27, 2007, at the Vintage Caffè, Mankas Corner, Suisun Valley.

Following that celebration, the Suisun Valley Grape Growers Association have collaborated with the wineries in Suisun Valley for a celebratory weekend. Each Suisun Valley tasting room will host its own festivities:

WHEN: Saturday, December 29, and Sunday, December 30, 2007, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

WHO: The four host tasting rooms:

  • Ledgewood Creek Winery, 4589 Abernathy Road
  • Suisun Valley Wine Cooperative, 4495 Suisun Valley Road
  • Vezér Family Vineyard Tasting Room, 5066 Clayton Road
  • Wooden Valley Winery, 4756 Suisun Valley Road

This is going to be a premium wine tasting and specialty food paring weekend, in order to showcase the exceptional wines being crafted from Suisun Valley wine grapes.

Complimentary logo wine glasses will be offered at all locations, and tasting will also be free (with the exception of Vezér: usual $10 tasting fee will apply).

  • A wide variety of foods and savory samples will be available (each location is determining what will be offered)
  • Barrel tasting by select vintners
  • Vertical wine tastings, also by select vintners

During this festive holiday week, the Suisun Valley Grape Growers Association, in collaboration with their tasting room neighbors, are looking forward to a delightful weekend. Independent Suisun Valley tasting rooms will be showcasing the best that their valley has to offer, welcoming the public to come share and enjoy in their 25th celebrations.
