Ronn Wiegand holds two of the world’s most esteemed wine credentials. He’s a Master of Wine and he’s a Master Sommelier… Exceptionally trained, and an extraordinary palate.

He’s also the first person in the world to hold both professional wine titles simultaneously. Moreover, Wiegand passed both exams on his very first attempt and received special awards for his top scores in each.

Ronn’s an exceptional talent.

He moved to London, where he worked for a wine merchant and wine bar operator, then joined a startup educational wine company in Hawaii. Since 1980, he has been a resident of the Napa Valley.

A widely published writer, his articles on wine have appeared in dozens of publications, including Vogue, Decanter, Connoisseur, Restaurants & Institutions, Hotel & Resort Industry, Restaurants USA, The Wine Spectator, Wines & Vines, Wine & Spirits, and The Wine News.

Between 1986 and 1991, he was wine columnist for the San Francisco Examiner. Today, he pens the wine column for Nation’s Restaurant News, the leading food service weekly circulated to more than 80,000 restaurants worldwide.
