When I arrived in California 20 years ago, Pure Luxury Transportation was just two years old as a business. Having come from a radio background, and being accustomed to taking winners backstage to meet rock n’roll’s performing artists, part of the deal was escorting them in limos. This continued as Jose segued from Portland, Maine, radio to Santa Rosa, CA. I decided to leave radio and pursue wine… a decision I’ll never regret; although, being in radio was also a lot of fun, very exciting, and really satisfying.
Truth be told as regards limos, my father owned an ambulance and limo service. At one point, I used to ride from Lewiston, Maine to Hallowell, Maine in my dad’s limo. I was managing his answering service; it was in Hallowell and I was living in Lewiston at the time.
Limos have just been a part of my personal history, so I’m not surprised that a connection still exists with a limo company here in California… While I may seem biased for Pure Luxury, I don’t believe I am. I know excellent service when I have it, and that’s what defines Pure Luxury…. and my reason to stay connected.
Owners Gary and Jennifer Buffo are an amazing couple. At one point, Gary wanted to fulfill a lifelong dream of becoming a police officer. Jennifer gave him all the room he needed. He went to school and became a law enforcement officer in Petaluma… Meanwhile, Jennifer continued to singlehandedly grow the business, as if they were both still working for their company full time. All of this has happened before our eyes. Jose manages their Website for them, so we have that inside edge.
Pure Luxury is a certified green company specializing in private, chauffeured transportation for airport transfers, wine tours, special occasions, concerts, sporting events, and more. Jose and I especially appreciate using their service when we have an airport run. It’s so convenient… It beats leaving the car in a parking lot, picking up parking fees, and the concern of whether or not your car will be in the same spot when you return. We also love going down to the Bay Area for dinner with friends and not having the concern of driving back, after a night of wining and dining.
IMPORTANT MESSAGE/LESSON from my dear friend Steve Heimoff:
Years ago, I invited Steve to dinner in Sonoma County. He reminded me that he’s in Oakland, and to come here for dinner, then to drive home was really dangerous. God forbid that anything would happen to him in an accident. Wine writing was/is his only career. A misstep would end his career… I immediately knew what he was talking about, so Jose and I arranged for a Pure Luxury car and headed to Oakland to meet with Steve. For us, it’s not a luxury, it’s a necessity…and Pure Luxury is always there for us.
The company’s goal is to provide the highest quality transportation service for their clients. They’ve continually upgraded the skills and abilities of their team, providing the highest level of customer service. Their mission is to “exceed business goals and expectations in order to deliver the quality service our clients irrefutably deserve,” and they’ve never failed us. I can say this 20 years later. It speaks volumes for their company.
It’s been amazing to watch Pure Luxury grow from a one vehicle limousine service to a full service, worldwide executive ground transportation company. They have every type of vehicle available to their clients. Every time we turn around, they’ve update their operations with the latest technologies, software, computers, vehicles, and their dedicated employees. Now, they’ve opened up a Napa office… expanding from their Sonoma County base.
From North Bay Business Journal: “Pure Luxury Transportation is establishing a Napa Valley base of operations for up to a quarter of its 100-plus limousines, sedans, SUVs, buses and, soon, motor coaches as part of a Bay Area expansion plan amid a double-digit increase in revenue last year… Pure Luxury (707-775-2920, www.pureluxury.com) leased a nearly 13,000-square-foot facility on 2.5 acres at 30 Case Ct. in south Napa… with plans to hire 40 to 50 local drivers, detailers and, eventually, dispatchers… to be fully staffed in a year’s time.”
Best of luck to you both. If your success in Sonoma County is any indication of your capabilities, you’re well on your way, my friends!
