So, Now I’m Into Politics ~ Wine Blogger Awards ~ Vote For Juicy Tales by Jo Diaz (Please)

Too funny. I never thought I’d find myself in this position. And, I’m darned glad that it’s not really political, because the years of me being a hitchhiker would uncover more than a modicum of dirt. (Quietly laughing to myself.)

The Wine Blogger Award voting is off and running. Last year, I watched as everyone who was nominated began his or her voting campaigns. I thought, “Wow, gotta love the furry and thunder;” so, I voted. And I’ll vote again this year. It wouldn’t be respectable if I didn’t get at least one vote, so I’m going to be presidential and vote for myself… As well as others, but obviously not in my category. I’m voting for myself… right up front with that one.

Recognizing Excellence in New Media

FROM THE WEBSITE: “The voting period will run June 21 – 27. Please carefully read the criteria and vote for one winner for each award category. If you are not familiar with each finalist, we suggest you spend the time to review the blogs so you can make an informed decision. Your vote is important!”

Once I visited the site, I realized that I had a responsibility to do that, so I’ll spend some reading what others are doing, but if you’re in my category… Sorry, and I know we’ll each get one vote.

The category that I fall into:

2. Best Industry/Business Wine Blog

Criteria: 1) Should have a substantial portion of the blog devoted to exploring the business of wine and the wine industry. 2) Should offer insightful analysis and reporting on the business of wine. 3) Should have used a substantial portion of posts to deliver independent and original analysis of the financial, marketing, administrative, marketing and technological aspects of the wine industry.

  1. Should have a substantial portion of the blog devoted to exploring the business of wine and the wine industry.
    • This blog is my journal of being a wine publicist, so that’s a no-brainer.
    • You can also follow most of what’s going on inside of PS I Love You, because it’s a client and my blog’s a great source of keeping up… besides Facebook and Twitter.
    • My recent Oregon Pinot Gris Symposium sold out, simply by using Emails and my blog (some Facebook  & a little Twitter) to get the word out.
  2. 2) Should offer insightful analysis and reporting on the business of wine.
  3. 3) Should have used a substantial portion of posts to deliver independent and original analysis of the financial, marketing, administrative, marketing and technological aspects of the wine industry.

The Line Up (Competition)

So, now I’m not going to bore you with more gory details. I just had to set the platform, because I do what I do.

A vote for Juicy Tales by Jo Diaz is a vote for independent thinking, unfiltered by those  who care about the author.

For now, I’m off chillin’…

[And, if I win, I’ll buy everyone who votes for me an ice cream cone. We just have to get together to have it. Don’t tell the organizers.]

  1. Best of luck Jo! So where do you want to meet up for that ice cream cone?

  2. Jo Diaz says:

    Thanks, Pamela.

So, next year… Pinto Gris Symposium. The night before or after the event, in Portland… We’ll do dinner and dessert (ice cream)!
