2006 La Baume Chardonnay, Vin de Pays D’OC ~ Delightful citrus nose opens with touches of vanilla and oak. Aromas lead way to tropical notes of pineapple and mango, crisp and clean with a hint of spice in the back end of the nose. Palate is creamy upfront; well balanced, very tasty. Tropical fruit notes also prevalent on the palate with a bright green apple finish that lingers. Pair this wine with a triple cream cheese and hearty crackers to start, or for the main course, try it with wasabi crusted scallops. ~ $14.99

2005 Oak Knoll Winery Pinot Noir, Red Hill Vineyard, OR ~ The nose opens with bright cherries and plums. Bouquet displays additional warm honey and nutmeg with a hint of saddle leather. Palate follows nose with more cherry in this supple pinot. Added notes of cedar spice, cocoa powder and white pepper are expressed in this easy quaffer. The perfect match for this Pinot Noir is purple basil fusilli carbonara topped with fresh grated Parmigiano Reggiano. ~ $15.00

2004 Sapid Syrah, Dorcich Vineyards, Central Coast, CA ~ Aromas of cassis and blackberry dominate the senses in the first sniffs. Bouquet evolves with hickory smoke, dark chocolate and sweet cream. The huge palate of blackberry jam expresses added notes of toasty oak and milk chocolate. Approachable tannins lead way to a jammy lingering finish. A tasty match for this syrah is a black and blue top sirloin burger topped with caramelized red onions. ~ $16.99

2004 Donati Family Vineyards Merlot, Paicines – San Benito, CA ~ Red currant and sweet oak aromas open in the nose of this wine, followed by a hint of mint and black pepper. The palate shows fruit stand fresh raspberries and strawberries. The soft palate continues with vanilla bean, a hint of clove, and an enjoyably juicy finish of blueberry jam. Try tonight with smoked gouda stuffed crimini mushrooms to start. Continue drinking with the main course of raspberry chipotle glazed chicken breast, over roasted garlic mashed potatoes. ~ $22.00
